Kara Kowalski

Kara Kowalski is a Chicago-based playwright and graduate of Northwestern University where she studied English and Theatre. In high school, she was a proud member of Piven’s Young People’s Company and could not be happier to be back, teaching and directing at Piven. Kara is also part of Piven’s development team and is so excited to support the work that has had a transformative impact on her growth as an artist and educator. She is so grateful for the home she’s found at Piven and the wonderful team that has made it possible. When she’s not at Piven, Kara teaches various arts classes around the city, including violin and playwriting.
