Susan Applebaum is an instructor at the Loyola Theatre Department and is working on a book with Joyce Piven about the training methods taught at Piven. Her daughter Meg gave birth to a baby boy, Thomas Nathan Applebaum on Saturday, May 12th.

Jennifer Barclay and her husband, Andy Newsham, recently relocated to San Diego after she was selected as 2006’s sole MFA Playwriting candidate at UC San Diego, where a staged reading of her latest play PLUNDER was recently performed. Stage Left produced her play THE HUMAN CAPACITY as part of its Leapfest 3 festival for new works.

Bernie Beck recently retired from Northwestern University, performed in Piven’s LADY CHAPLIN, and performed a staged reading of his daughter’s play NUMBER OF PEOPLE this past summer.

Craige Christensen is performing in the Midwest premiere of Adam Rapp’s TRUEBLINKA at Chicago Dramatists. She is also in her second year as Violence Prevention Coordinator at the YWCA Evanston/North Shore.

Kevin D’Ambrosio performed in the piece PHOTO OP as part of The Artistic Home’s one-act festival.

Paul Dunckel performed in IN TIME OF WAR at Stage Left and LADY CHAPLIN AND HER TRAMP at Piven.

Jenny Eccher will be performing her dance concert SCENE 32 on January 18th-20th  at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts.

Maya Friedler is working on the film A PLACE OF OUR OWN, which chronicles the lives and work of Chicago Feminist leaders.

Dieterich Gray recently performed in KING LEAR with Stacy Keach at the Goodman Theatre, and in CRUMBLE (LAY ME DOWN, JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE) and OSAMA THE HERO with the Dog & Pony Theatre Company. He will direct the world premiere of THE MAKING OF THE HUMAN BEATBOX, and two short plays as part of the national 365 Project. David is recently engaged to KT Luby.

Jennifer Green stepped into the role of Artistic Director of the Piven Theatre Workshop this year and recently accepted an adjunct faculty position at Northwestern University.

Tom Herman performed in BOOK OF DAYS at Raven Theatre. His short films AUDITION: APRIL 12TH and SKULL were screened at the Music Box theatre as part of the Chicago Short Comedy Film and Video Festival. AUDITION: APRIL 12TH was also screened in Grant Park as part of the Chicago Outdoor Summer Film Festival.

Will Kinnear performed in HUNGER AND THIRST with A Red Orchid Theatre, and in Piven’s production of CHEKHOV STORIES: THE EMERGING WOMAN.

Ryan Kitley recently accepted a position at Pasadena City College teaching Scene Study. He and his wife Kelley welcomed their son, Connor Ryan Kitley, to their family on April 7th.

James Meredith performed in the Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s production of MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, in THE DUCHESS OF MALFI at Writers Theatre, and in THE BLUEST EYE at Steppenwolf with fellow Piven Ensemble Member Chavez Ravine.

Arielle Nobile performed in a staged reading of the U.S. premiere of 24 HOURS ARE NOT A DAY with the Disposable Theatre and Arielle has launched a family history video business www.familylegacypro.com.

Mikalina Rabinsky recently assistant directed INHERIT THE WIND at Northlight Theatre with director Jessica Thebus.

Scott Shallenbarger recently directed JEFFREY at Stage Left and has stepped into the role of Literary Manager for the Piven Theatre.
